PnP straight out of refrigerator. Way too cold = initial aromas and flavors of berry, herbs, grass, citrus, stone. Drink with broiled scallops, polenta with mushrooms, gouda with porcinis and crackers and a kale salad. Cradling wine for a few minutes to warm it up. As it warms the aromas and flavors are consistently intensifying and the greener vegetable and herb notes are subsiding. This is richer and more subtle than the standard Sauv Blanc by Kim Crawford. Good. Apricot appearing after about 30 minutes. Some pear notes entering in with a cooler glass refill.

Opened to have with a pasta, scallops, asparagus and mushroom dinner. Rich tropical fruit and citrus without the sharp edge along with some rock flavors. Summery. Fruit forward. This is distinct from the regular Marlborough, and more interesting.

Bought Peter Osborne Fine Wines, Oxfordshire, UK. £18.00 October 2015.
Have had previous vintages before so was expecting the rich lush almost Hawkes Bay style previously enjoyed. But this 2013 vintage has returned to a Marlborough style, though it isn't typical, thank goodness: soft fruit, ripe, and balanced with enough racey acidity for it not to be cloying.
Medium body. Good length. But not my fave Marlb' SB, I prefered the previous style.
Value-for-money? No, not at £18.00 Won't buy again.

Bright and elegant nose of guava, melon, stonefruit, citrus, and passion fruit. The palate is lively and tensile but not as flamboyant as the Marlborough bottling. Shows attractive zip, a green apricot mid-note, and lime and lime pith on the extended finish.

Nice antipodal SB with citrus and banana notes and a lime zing.
