Terrific wine. Classic fruit with some modern treatment. Ruby color with a rim that is showing a bit of orange. Full, sweet, red Grenache fruit mixed with freah herbs and a bit of eucalyptus. There is some oak as well. A lot going on. Make-up but applied judiciously. The palate is lovely. Full flavored but not at all heavy for a sourthern Rhone. Beautiful mouthfeel. Layered with a bit of oak tannin remaining on the finish. Fruit seems to be mature. I will try to drink remaining bottles over the next few years as this may turn bitter because of the oak as the fruit fades. At peak right now. (93)

Weekly tasting group RWP #320; Three completely different, but pleasurable flights. (@ My place): Beautiful, deep and complex bouquet with red and dark berries, some garrigue and beautifully mature. On the palate juicy red berries, sweet spices, dark berries as well, beautiful acidity, leather, herbs and spices and tannin with a soft bite. Beautiful now and fully mature, but on the other hand no real hurry yet. Unfortunately this was my last bottle.

Monthly Tasting Group EEE #064: Southern Rhône (@ AR): What a coincidence; yesterday in my glass brought by someone else (In another tasting group). In todays tasting group I promised to bring this wine and I kept my promise. The (blind) tasting note was more or less the same. Dark fruits, some licorice, herbs and autumn. Same on the palate and also the same as yesterday. Very beautiful wine which still has a future of several years.

Monthly Tuesday group "The Dead Sparrow" #022: Gigondas (By PV): Beautiful bouquet with a lot of herbs, red and dark berries, cherries, toast and autumn impressions. On the palate juicy dark berries, dark cherries, well dosed oak, some barnyard, beautiful acidity and length. Slightly mature, but not tired yet.

Even ruby throughout. Spice and black raspberry. Medium weight, creamy red fruit, excellent acidity. Holding at the same very high level of several years ago when last tasted. Just delicious.
