Christmas gift from Matt which means I get to taste a wine I would never consider buying. A blend of Syrah 35%, Mourvedre 25%, Petite Sirah 25%, Grenache 15%. Nose of hot cinnamon and spice from the Syrah, as it sits in the glass, more of an inky nose, blueberry tart, almost menthol, and a touch of heat, more of the same on the palate where the Petite Sirah dominates, tasty with cheese stuffed chicken, and BBQ potato chips, more energy than elegance, more mouth filling than mouth coating, more Paso robles than Rhone, medium body, probably peaks in the next 8 months, medium, flavorful finish.

Paso Robles Rhone Rangers (Broken Earth Winery): red, in color. cherry, spice, pepper, on the nose. saline, pepper, plum, cherry, spice, on the palate. high acid, medium tannins, on the finish.

Good Fruit. Better than the Red2 and Red3 I last tasted. Nothing truly memorable, but a good value.
