Popped and poured. This is terrific. Apricot, tropical fruit, minerals and a little motor oil. Full bodied but enough acidity to retain good freshness. Really interesting and enjoyable now. This is going to evolve into something very special.

Similar to DRDAN8’s observations very dark in colour, oxidative both in appearance and on the nose/palate. Not unpleasant, notes of ripe/dried fruit, beeswax, nuts. On the palate a little one-dimensional and bitter, not much in terms of depth nor length. 88-90?

Equal parts Rousanne / Marsanne. Pours a deep golden color to the stem but in no way oxidized. Very interesting nose of burnt toast, vanilla bean shavings, sweat, cashew nut, and guava. Distinctive palate of pineapple, yellow fruit pith, and some hard to identify flavors. Moderate richness with a mild telltale white Hermitage bitterness. A refreshing change from many of the generic whites on the market. Some very distinctive elements to this wine. I expect further complexity with 5 years.
