  • Viognier to me should all be about aromatics and this wine was very muted on the nose. The flavors of honeysuckle and pear were pleasant enough, but this wine did not impress me too much. It improved as it warmed and the fruit flavors rounded our nicely and it felt good in the mouth, but I missed the complex aromatics of the best examples that the grape can produce. I’m yet to be sold on the virtues of Cal. Viognier although an Alban I had was pretty good although somewhat pricey.
