This is a very typical Shiraz with piles of fruit, tannins and a lovely "cigar/leather" nose. I love these wines. This one could use a couple of hours of breathing. It could still cellar for 3-5 years.

This wine is in a weird place right now. The nose has all sorts of great scents -- eucalyptus, menthol, mint, blackberries -- but it's a big disjointed mess on the palate. It has plenty of fruit, so you'd think it should have several years ahead of it still. Will hang on to the last bottle for a few years just to see what happens with it.

Melted licorice, tar & stewed plum on the nose. Roasted & concentrated sweet fruit with a distinct licorice vein. For the money, this overdelivers even with a few years of bottle age.

(Jim Barry Shiraz The Lodge Hill) Dark purple color; nice, subtle, plum, boysenberry nose; tasty, boysenberry, a little vanilla, balanced, not overoaked; medium finish

$11? Really?! Very nice; ok, a notch or two below the Armagh, but very, very good; lively fruit and long finish, sweet nose; excellent value!

Lots of fruit, but not particularly interesting.
