Bought on our honeymoon, we waited 5 years to drink this tonight. Decanted 2.5 hours. No sediment. Typical Rhone brownish tint- not a purple Cabernet for sure. Has become more complex over time. Very fruit forward to start. tannins have started to show after threee hours in air. Not as bold as our other honeymoon wine (pegau CdP) that we previewed a couple years ago. Much more reserved. A great everyday drinker. Great QPR based on the super low price we paid in Gigondas tasting room.

Seemed initially tired and oxidized, but did wake up a bit during the evening - still, probably not a pristine bottle. From what we did see, certainly your Old Time Grenache speaks here ...

1989 Vintage Blind Tasting Event - another little treat before the bdx varietals. Explosive nose of fresh cracked pepper, sappy fruits, sage brush, mineral and iron. Fresh and youthful on the palate. Drinking slightly young but delicious.

Loaded freshly cracked peppercorn, charcuterie, schist, and mineral driven bouquet. The wine tastes like it smells, packing a punch of pepper and mineral ores. Medium plus acid, powerful tannic structure, serious stuffing. A great drink now, and time will serve it well.
