  • After 30 in decanter:

Beautiful but slightly reductive nose of charred wood, charred ends of roasted beef, cooking herbs, vanilla, and super ripe black cherries. Medium-full bodied, this is round in the mouth, but still has some unresolved tannin. Will try with food then again after 30+ more minutes in decanter.

After 1:20 in decanter: Becoming more aromatically pure and open. Spicy, this is now just loaded with aromatic fireworks of spice box, cigar box, Asian spices and sandalwood. Smoother and rounder, this has gained purity and precision with extended airing that leads me to believe this has many years ahead of it (as all of these single Cru wines seem to). This is startig to show some of that old Southern Rhone charachter I love so much! Drink now-2030 93

  • St Cosme Vertical (@Lasse): Dark fruit but tending towards strawberry and raspberry. Impressive depth and lovely acidity. Great wine

  • This wine continues to impress and surprise me. At 13 years old it still opens with vibrant red and black fruit, and now so smoothly textured, and supported by lots of secondary notes and tertiary too. Some nice gentle spice, and luxury leather, and a sweet tobacco. Really a lovely wine, that punches so far above it weight cost wise. It’s up there with the very best CNDP yet was $40 at purchase. Not sure what it comes in at now, but anything up to $60 a bottle is worth it. And it can clearly age beautifully. It even probably has a few good years yet in it.

  • Grande finesse pour vin sudiste, alcool bien intégré, sur son plateau d'apogée, non décanté et procure déjà beaucoup de plaisir. 93/100
