Anyone who considers this to be in the style of white Burgundy should drink more white burg. Bitter oak, plump texture, severely spicy, very ripe, sunny, buttery and generous. I served this blind and guesses ranged from Rousanne to Cali Chardonnay.

100% Chardonnay, aged 10 months in French oak barrels and made in a Burgundian style. This would be a fun wine to try blind with a Carton Charlemagne and a Chassagne Montrachet. Bright, medium yellow, with ripe pear, fuji apple, ripe lemon, barely ripe pineapple, nutmeg, clove and other sweet spices. The nose is developing. The oak adds polish but is quite restrained. The palate is dry, with medium (+) acidity and alcohol (13.5%). The palate is consistent with the nose, with intense flavors and a long, savory finish. This wine is quite elegant and balanced and seems more youthful than six years of age. It is drinking well now and should continue to do so for several more years. This is the kind of wine that could make a believer out of a California Chardonnay-basher. Then again, at this price it better deliver.

wow...pop...5 mins to warm and open a little...great...light, viscous, thick swirling butter with citrus, honey, pear, and kiwi....wonderfully integrated and layered. Reminds me of a great Kistler!

Stand by my prior proclamations. This is special stuff. Had next to a 2012 Peter Michael La Carriere. This wine was much more focused, restrained on the oak and lighter on the palate. Really dances across your tongue. Yes, it is pricey, but truly an upper-echelon CA white.

This is great stuff. Stand by my prior proclamation that this is one of the best whites I've ever had. Bold and gold. Has all the goods, while remaining smooth. Really no oak to speak of, although the depth is there. Smooth, rounded finish. Perfect way to start Thanksgiving in the kitchen.
