Dull, dark red color. After 10 minutes, an interesting but very challenging Pinotage nose of acrid tar smoke, black overripe bananas and dust. Untamed on the palate, with a strong initial attack of cedar, tar, dark fruit and tobacco, and some green notes. Decent carry through to the finish, blackberries and a bitter olive, dripped with some smoky bacon fat. It's rustic and rich, there's a lot going on... Not for the faint of heart. I'm fascinated by this as an experience.

Right off the bat the nose comes across as flat but it opens up after an hour with fruity flavors. The palate is the best thing about this wine full bodied, good red fruit flavour with lots of spice and acid and a finish to match.

Excellent, but you have to enjoy the Cape Blend style – and a fairly Pinotage-centric version thereof – to appreciate this wine. Blend of 51% Pinotage, 22% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, and 9% Cabernet Franc. Dark garnet red color. Full-bodied and dry palate. Lots of dark cherry flavors, alongside notes of tar and toasty oak. Despite the dominant Pinotage character, this wine is very nicely balanced. Medium-length slightly spicy finish. Has the perfect amount of age on it now. Very good QPR. An excellent, affordable, and readily-available Cape Blend.

A chunky country-style wine with piercing black cherry on a saddle leather background with a long "tangy" licorice, tobacco and cedar finish. The Pinotage makes itself felt in this blend.
