  • Tasted over 2 hrs
    -inky dark purple
-jammy plum dark berry whiff of maturity
-med- acidity, heavy weight thick texture plum tar licorice earth with some developing sous bois, some heat but it is mostly buried by the structure, med- tannins
-this is a big wine but the heat is hidden and the flavor profile is pleasant, still drinking well but wouldn't let this sit too long because I suspect the heat will eventually dominate

  • Big purple and red inky color. Fruit on the nose and palate were a bit restrained, pepper dominated. Tannins were a bit astringent and drying at first, went back the next day for dinner and the wine was more balanced. Definitely not a fruit forward wine, but it works and became better with time and air. Cassis and dark berry.
