Big, bold and fruity with a hint of smoke. I think it would develop more finesse and layers with more age, but at this point it was mostly about the powerful fruit.

Couple hours of decant time, the nose is led by forest floor and bramble with dark cherry as the dominant fruit. The air time is a must, this starts out bitter on the tongue and mellows after three to four hours. Pairing with food muted the bite as well. Deeper mouthfeel and a medium length finish.

The nose is a dead CdP giveaway: briary, but with a solid core of fruit and some uplifting floral notes. I get some pipe tobacco too. Grenache clearly dominates the blend, and the Mourvedre adds some fruity background notes. Still has a good acid and tannn presence to go 2-4 more years. Really nice with rare steak.

Two hours of decant time, the nose and palate present the same, with dark cherry, earth and garrigue. The tannins are ever present and don't relax completely but do unwind enough to allow the acidity to keep pace. A medium mouthfeel and a longer finish, this is a polished wine.

Very nice nose. I could savor just the nose all day. It has an upswing of a hint of sweet at the finish. Very nice. There is a lot going on with this wine. It feels very balanced in the taste and smell. I would love to drink this again and often.
