  Perfectly fine but not very exciting. Slightly darker fruits than I like from a Rhys, good balance, but not nearly as good as their better sites/cuvees.

  Day 1 - PnP. Solid but simple. Rated 89. Red fruits with medium- body. Unimpressed and I actually opened a Morey St. Denis instead.
  
  Day 2 - Significantly more evolved with a darker flavor profile and soft tannins. Better balance and body. Rated 91. Still not my favorite style but very enjoyable.

  Drank after an Alpine Vineyard bottle, also 2012. Alpine Vineyard was much more complex and structured so this bottle was something of a disappointment. Good but not great.

  Truly spectacular and was hitting on all cylinders. Such a delightfully, elegant, yet so perfectly ripe dose of red fruited pinot. Sometimes Rhys wines can get too stemmy, crunchy to taste in a balanced, elegant way - but this wasn't that. Last bottle of this vineyard and year, and so glad to have on xmas eve.
