Magical California Chardonnay. Rich, golden color with a palate that is full of complex apricot skin and other fruit notes. The oak has completely integrated but leaves a nice structural finish. Beautifully complex and long. The best new world white of the year for me. Drink up. (96)

Dinner with Daun and Jeff: Deep gold in colour and is now showing strong hints that it is well beyond its prime. What's here is incredible - dense, chewy and a remarkable collection of tropical fruits.
One of my favourite chards several years ago. If you have any left, it's time to drink up.

This wine has really turned into something special. Clear yellow. Fantastic nose with stone fruit and hazelnut. Powerful but precise palate lasts a full minute with succulent fruit and mineral. loved it.

Herwig and Reid for dinner in San Francisco (SF): Huge glycerin, peach, and easily has some botrytis in it. Lots of oak / toast on the nose and palate. Label says 14.7% alc and I am thinking it must be closer to 16% Just over the top.

Massive concentrated fruit - peach, candied lemon zest on nose, continuing on to the palate, along with lots of spice and some elements of toasted nuts. This is clearly massive and powerful, but made in a rather extreme, hedonistic style that I don't find makes you want to open a bottle and drink over the course of a meal.
