58% Malbec, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Petit Verdot, 8% Syrah and 4% Merlot partially aged in French oak barrels (60%). This is very modern compared to its Chilean counterpart which is a natural wine made from a miscellaneous mix of varietals while this is made with Bordeaux varietals in Michel Rolland’s modern style. Very rich on the nose and palate with dark fruit (plums and dark cherries) and chocolate. There’s a bit camphor and heat from the 15% alcohol. Otherwise, it’s a round wine with just enough freshness and structure to keep it from feeling flabby. It feels and looks quite young for a 9 year old wine, so I don’t see why it can’t maintain this level for another 3-5 years.

On the pop 'n pour, lots of overt toasted oak and aggressive tannin. Hard to enjoy, really. After vacuvin'ing and storing overnight in the fridge, this softened quite a bit and became much better. Came across like a modern St. Emilion, with a veneer of slick, French oak. Good depth and concentration but nothing I'm very interested in.

With just a bare touch of pickle juice. And full bore on the palate. With some structure too.
