From the LB closeout @ $9, this has held up pretty well. Not a big bottle, but a ten year old fairly simple CS showing some age and drinking well and seems to have time left. 13.8 ABV and more in a classic style.

Honestly, I had very low expectations from this wine, but at $9/bottle purchased from Last Bottle, I figured I could take a gamble. To me, this wine was a pleasant surprise! I did encounter some sediments when I was pouring a glass (not surprised by that, though). On the glass, the wine is showing its age with some bricking on the rim, but maintains a garnet color to show it's still not over the hill yet. Tamed on the nose (even after an hour decant), sweet cherries, red fruits and cedar. On the palate you get more of the juicy red fruit, cedar and hints of leather with enough tannins to keep it structured on the medium-long finish. Overall, what I took away from this wine is the importance of balance. Fruit, acidity, tannins, and oak - they all have a role to play.

Nice --- not great. Medium color, light fruit. light and simple finish. Pretty well balanced as well. It would be better if it had a little more personality. Very light oak and as stated it's fine just not memorable
