Community Tasting Notes (2)

  • Cork was in perfect shape. Wine was opened 45 minutes prior to tasting.
N:Rich, floral aromas that required a while to emerge. Peach, nutmeg.
P: No alcohol or heaviness on the finish. Nice richness that paired well with steamed mussels. Finishes clean on a strong floral note.
    Drink or hold

  • Disclaimer: I'm a thoroughly unimpressed by the lack of acidity in most unacidified southern white wines, and more so when rhone varietals are used. The only exception is viognier, which can go either way. This wine was purchased with low expectations. It was popped and poured chilled, and not decanted.

N: quite muted for about 40 minutes, then opened up to the typical white chateauneuf quince, peach and musk scents.

The palate equally followed, the rich texture was amplified by copious peach, honey and musk flavours.
    Good wine.
Drink or hold, quite steady yet unlikely to improve.
    13.5% abv.
