  My first time having Accomasso and I got very lucky. According to most people who have experience with these fascinating wines there is a lot of bottle variation. This is a great bottle and according to the generous person who brought it this is the best bottle he has tasted so far.
  Super old school with notes of dark red and red fruit, cedar wood, cigar box, menthol, violets, tar, a touch of espresso. It‘s dark, deep and impressive, with medium-full body, high acidity and medium-high tannin that is a touch rustic but good quality. Excellent length.
  A very classic, old school, cool and complex Barolo and a real treat to taste this.

  Der Barolo Rocche 1996 von Giovanni Accomasso aus La Morra war für mich neben dem sehr alten Burgunder aus Morey-Saint-Denis das Highlight des Abends. Aus sehr unterschiedlichen Gründen. Wobei …?! Zumindest die außerordentliche Jugendlichkeit, natürlich in Relation gesetzt, mag die beiden Weine in gewissen Verbindung gesetzt haben. Der Rocche erschien mir sehr jugendlich und Spannung, von der Stilistik sehr raffiniert, elegant und geschliffen und von mir aus auch burgundisch (heute kann der Teufel mich für diese dähmliche Verallgemeinerung sehr gerne holen). Eigentlich konnte ich in diesem Wein keinerlei mir negativ aufstoßende Eigenschaften, wie es sich für meinen Gaumen bei Nebbiolo Weinen eher selten verhält, aufgefallen. Daher für mich ein fantastischer, eher leichtfüßiger und sehr vitalisierender Barolo! Mehr … per favore!
