Prior bottle was almost sixteen months ago and this wine has improved almost exactly as I'd hoped. Lemon, pear and apple on the nose, along with a soft vanilla note in the back. Medium bodied with lemon along with mixed white orchard fruits upfront and shows excellent mid-body density and depth. Brings in some nice acidity based tartness and citrus notes on the backside. Mid-body showed very good balance and integration while retaining enough structural acidity for backbone and future potential. This was a step above the 2012 Chanin Chardonnay Bien Nacido (from yesterday) and vies with the 2011 Chanin Chardonnay Los Alamos (from Friday) as the best chardonnay of the weekend. This wine felt a touch fuller and demonstrated probably the best balance of the three. Should be able to at least hold this level and perhaps even improve slightly along these same lines over the next few years. This was my final bottle for now, but I'll be on the lookout for more.

Lemon, floral and light vanilla notes on the nose. Perhaps a bit over medium bodied with mixed orchard fruits upfront with impressive density and depth. As the wine warmed (and the longer it was open), the more complexity was revealed through the middle, like peeling back the layers of an onion. Backside provides impressive contrast with mixed citrus notes, especially lemon. Finish is simply outstanding as the body of the wine is tied in nearly seamlessly and the wine simply sails smoothly and cleanly with very good length. This wine is only beginning to show its true potential. Next bottle for me will be Fall 2018 at the earliest, perhaps even July 2019.

Absolutely love this wine. Very pure and mineral driven, it is very much in the white burgundy mould rather than fatty, buttery new world chard. Very linear with great acidity and fruit, but also elegant oak and MLF characteristics. A perfect food pair, one of my favorite wines of the year so far.
