  • Overall warm, full-bodied Chardonnay
Nose: perfumed, butter, honey, smoke, yellow apples, some floral notes.

Tasting: nice malolactic mouth feel, full-bodied, med acid. Some tropical notes, pineapple, citrus and some bitterness towards finish. Hint of pear. Long buttery aftertaste with hint of pear. 90p

  • Pale lemon in glass. Medium plus on the nose. Lemon, flint, smoke, white peaches, nectarine, and pineapple. Medium to medium plus body and acidity. Good finish. Quite complex for $30.

  • Excellent, but barely into its drinking window. Deep and textured with spice, baking and fresh citrus, lemon, apple, hints of tropical fruits. Dry extract. The oak isn't fully integrated yet, so for my taste it was too pronounced and butting up against the wine as much as supporting it. There was an unexpected dip towards the end before a medium finish, but I'm confident this will fill in.

I decanted this a couple of hours the first night, which improved it vs. a sip at PnP. Half of the bottle left capped overnight (no suction, no gas) drank the same the following night. This is really sturdy and built to age at least five years.

    '91' with likely meaningful upside

Really nice QPR on $30 close-out, a wine I've never see discounted meaningfully in any vintage. Bought some more to lay down.

  • Covid-smaking. Norge fulstendig nedstengt. Viner ble distribuert rundt fra hus til hus til alle deltakere. Smaking hjemme over Teams.
    • 2018 Chanin Sanford & Benedict Vineyard Sta. Rita Hiils Chardonnay (Frederik F1)

Veldig kompleks. Litt rik, men balanseres pent av syren. Meget lang.
Vurdering: Høy kvalitet, Lang ettersmak, litt rikere.
    Poeng: 92

  • Tropical fruit, a medium-ripe exotic quality plus hint of flint, chalk and welcome balancing acid. This is stellar, white Burg-esque chard in the best sense. Love it.
