Appearance: Clear wine with a medium ruby colour and a fading rim.
Nose: Clean nose with a pronounced intensity. This wine is developing.
Very powerful and concentrated on the nose - rich blackcurrant, cedarwood, pine, vanilla and raisins, the cedarwood in particular almost jumps out of the glass. Starting to fade into leather and cigarbox notes.
Palate: Dry Medium acidity Medium+ alcohol Medium+ tannins Medium intensity Medium+ body Medium+ finish
On the palate this wine is a little more savoury with cooked blackcurrant, liquorice and leather. The tannins are smooth and the finish lengthy, although unfortunately quite bitter towards the end.
Very good quality Cabernet Sauvignon from Penedes, Catalunya. Can be drank now but has the structure to age for another 1-3 years before the acidity drops off. At around 10 euros a bottle, excellent QPR.

A nice wine of somewhat 'hybrid' character, with a hint of French style on the basis of a Spanish background. The crowd-pleasing combination of Cabernet Sauvignon and noticeable, but not overdone, barrique also works well here. Nicely palate-filling, medium persitence, moderate complexity.
