  • Opened a week ago. Medium nose, good fruit but still rather tannic (although the tannins were tamed enough to add a nice mouthfeel.) Recorked 1/2 the bottle and gassed. Reopened tonight to find slightly less nose & fruit, with tannins about the same. Reclosed and gassed with about 20% left. Be interesting to see what it's like in another few days. All-in-all, quite youthful for a 20 year old. Glad I still have a third of the case left.

  • Very interesting to compare with earlier reviews. I still have 5 bottles left of this wine, and have stored them properly in my cellar. It's been several years since I opened one, but as I recall the last one still wanted some more cellar time. This time it was just right, I think. Cork was firm, with almost no color on its side. Nose was a bit slow to emerge, but emerged in maybe 10 minutes. Still some tannins. Nice Medoc fruit. Medium long finish. Not a great wine, but whaddya want for less than $20/bottle. For that price, twenty years old, I'd call it a winner.

  • Thin, not much flavor left. Ambivalent for a $2.99 close-out, but what the heck. Attempted to drink the 2nd half of bottle 3 days later - awful. poured out.
