Dark red with some brick colors, no sediment in the bottle.
The nose is fairly subtle with pepper, roasted meat, tobacco, with a bit of cherry/cranberry present.
Some nice red fruit right away, followed by more pepper and something earthy that I can't quite pinpoint, but pleasant... finishes with a lingering anise taste that is quite pleasant. Tannins have definitely smoothed out over the last 4 hours, but still very present.
Medium body, but some nice acidity, this really evolved nicely after a few hours. I prefer my Bordeaux a bit more in the full body range, but this was definitely a good QPR. I would drink it again.

Past its prime. The fruit had dissipated and the tannins had developed a unique flavour. It had a good aroma and mulbery flavour. On the second day the aroma was more barnyard but the flavour had added a caramel note while the tannin was no longer so unpleasant.
