47th Viceroy's B'Day; 9/28/2017-10/1/2017 (Restaurant La Piperna - Madrid): Maybe because I had highest expectations about this bottle it was nothing more than a vulgar wine without any special element to stand out. Ripe peaches (tropical fruit for the others) and a little more. Good bitterness, nice aftertaste in a watery texture. Boring at its best.

Opera Wine 2017 - 100 Great Producers (Verona, Italy): { OperaWine2017, Verona } The darker color portends the over-oaked, over-wrought nature. It's creamy, which can be just fine so long as there's enough freshness and acidity to balance; I'm not finding that acidity here. Over the years I've had a lot more misses than hits with this house. Not something I would drink or recommend.
30 months on from my last note, and it remains slightly disappointing. Long, but now almost sweet and lacks the vibrancy of Vie di Romans other wines. Fully mature.

Plenty of oak and sleek winemaking. Rich but with that attractive Vie di Romans bitter edge. Needs a little time to resolve, though I'm not sure that their website's estimate of 8 years until ready and 18 years in total is likely to be accurate.I have to say I prefer the wonderful Flor di Uis

Spicy oak on nose and palate. Butter and pineapple. Not exactly subtle.
