  Purchased from long gone Sam’s in Chicago in Sept. 1984 -much as with the previous taster I was amazed at how lovely this wine was even thought the bottle had a low neck fill and the cork absolutely had to be removed with the Durand or would have shredded to nothing. Initially was very closed in although decanted 3 hours before but quickly opened up in the glass. A truly fine example of 40+ year old Bordeaux.

  Rating also in regards of age and not so prestige appelation. Cork fully soaked and had to open with durand gentile. But really enjoyed this very well aged wine - had to be in a nice cellar. Bought for 10 bucks. Fully developed, no surprise but surprisingly there is fruit, tea, iron, leather and some depth. Acidity still there and so with a backbone all together. Not really complex and mid-short but still very nice and a biiig surprise. Have 4 more
