  • Stand by my 3/25/2016 note. True excellence. Bumped it up a point for just hanging in there for 6 years. Plenty of bottle life left in this jewel. Beware, next rate likely to top 96.

  • served much colder this time. tamed down the entire experience in a good way. drank much more like a typical Napa SB. solid bottle but still not worth the $$

  • This tastes like a Sauvignon Blanc on steroids - ripe, oaky, thick, and powerful. Although I respect the boldness of the effort, I can't say I really enjoyed it. Golden yellow in color, full in body, nose of cantaloupe and wet grass. Tastes of grapefruit, lime, honey, and almond, with an oaky finish that has an oily, almost syrupy mouthfeel. 14.5% alcohol.

For Napa SB's that see some oak, this is closer to Bevan's Dry Stack (which is a touch riper and thicker) than Larkmead's Lille (which is a lot more lean and fresh). I prefer the latter style, but this is worth giving a try if you're looking for more New World Chardonnay in your Sauvignon Blanc.

  • this was a solid cali SB, but i was hoping for a bit more. I think there are similar sauv blancs at half the price. I'll leave the next one a few years and see if things change a bit

  • Full bodied and a little "punchy" for my liking. The wine seems to be all over the place in the mouth. Lacks balance, but there are some nice flavors/aromas in there. The wine has a dominant note reminding me of mango cream (perhaps too much new oak??), nice notes of citrus and grass come after. Maybe this needs some time to calm down?
