  Brick red color; still some tannins remaining. Alcohol seemed overly prominent compared to what we expected. Still good but drink soon--it probably was better a couple years ago.

  This wine was decanted and poured. It showed well from the beginning and improved with airing. The is fully mature and will not improve with additional bottle age. The aromatics show mature notes of raspberry, cherry, camp fire, stones and spice notes. the color is medium ruby that is fully mature. The medium bodied palate shows good balance, medium finish and mostly resolved tannins. The wines drinks well now for its maturity. The wine would have merited a an outstanding rating had is demonstrated greater complexity and nuance. It does however exceed expectations.
