Viscous and oily, mineral to the bone, dry Riesling. Very sensitive to the food you are pairing, was OK with salads and gruyere cheese. In its prime now, but I enjoyed it more when was younger. 13% alc.

Took 30 min after opening to come into its senses, revealing nice east-y character with subtle citrus freshness plus some stony minerality. Delicious and relaxing.

Coming along nicely. Acidity is knitting, tertiary aromas are emerging, deep-pitched soil notes are weaving into the slated stone fruit and citrus zest flavors. I think this is “mature” but think there’s plenty more development ahead. Truly delicious bottle. Drink and hold as they say.

Excellent bottle. Younger side of mature but firing on all cylinders. Sensational with omakase tempura at Secchu Yokota.

Die Forelle 2022: Ice skating at the Weissensee; 1/22/2022-1/29/2022 (Techendorf, Austria): Medium to full bodied riesling that shows some lovely aging; quite a bit of petrol, apple sauce, white peach, minerality on the nose. On the palate citrus, pear, peach and apricot. Long apricot finish
