Color:garnet with a bit of bricking Nose: cherry, leather, flowers Taste: cherry, earth, leather, menthol
This is well integrated with a bit of fruit upfront and lots of secondary flavors peeking through. The finish is smooth with some lingering tannins on the finish. Really well done and in a great spot now.

Carpe Vino!; 11/9/2014-11/15/2014 (Tuscany (Florence, Montalcino, Siena)): Very small production wine (~1300 bottles per year). They first started making the Riserva in '06. The '08 is great. Second favorite wine of the flight and very popular with the group. Very fruity on the initial taste and has a nice sweet and sour characteristic to it. I keep envisioning a furry red fruit as the taste although I'm not sure what to call it. I also get a bit of fir tree (helps to balance). Pretty intense flavors. Would keep an eye out for it - it's a nice wine.

This bottle has aged considerably. Possibly past peak, but still lovely.

Really good BdM in an off year. Tannins have softened, at its peak now.

Tasted at La Fortezza Di Montalcino. Intense color and wonderful young flavors, delicious now, that should mellow and improve for years to come.
