Dinner at Caroline's: Rich, layered nose of a good white Burgundy, thought it could have been a Corton Charlemagne from the late ‘00s. An old-school Chardonnay with buttery, caramel and hazelnut notes. Good heft and weight that made me think that this was a grand cru from an okay producer. Quite different from my experience I had with the 2014 which was still very tight, this should be drunk up soon.

Domaine Latour-Giraud Meursault Genevrieres 2012 On the nose, some lemon, nuts, almonds, hints of flowers, cream and butter. On the palate, with enough air, there is quite a strong body, with good acidity, lemon, butter, nuts, quite open. Good. Could develop more. 92/100

CCT Burgundy Dinner (Daley's on Yates, Schenectady, NY): [Opened (but not decanted) about 45 minutes before serving.] Full in the mouth. Much more richness and density compared to the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune La Couleuvraire. A delicious wine which really goes well with the Venison Carpaccio.

This was an absolute pleasure to drink. I would call it near prime time. Mid-yellow colour; forward nose of lemon with limestone notes. Palate almost viscous but refined and complex; balanced and long finish. Drinking beautifully now.

Another story from another bottle tried five years ago. Exotic fruits, mineral, and some buttery cream in both aroma and palate. Textured but still out-of-balance with very very weak acidity.
