Community Tasting Notes (10) Avg Score: 89.4 points

  • White and yellow peach, white pineapple and lots of acidity notes on the nose. Close to medium bodied (7.5% ABV) with white peach upfront, moving quickly to yellow peach and white/yellow pineapple through the middle. As it warms, other tropical notes show through including mango and passion fruit. Tart citrus and very good acidity on the backside provide contrast. Some richness and borderline sweetness towards the back of the mid-body but then the acidity jumps in and balances neatly. This was served more to the chilled side, which played up the acidity and tart notes, but even then, I thought this wine showed more complexity and more future potential than what prior other reviews had suggested. If opening now, give it some time to warm a touch and open up, but this wine has a long life ahead of it and will continue to improve, so probably worth holding for a bit longer.

  • Red apple skin, red apple, a bit of lime, some ripe stone fruit. Rich, with sweetness balanced by lime acidity. Quite primary. Fairly simple but so very gulpable.

  • Yellow straw. Slight petrol nose. Effervescence immediately apparent the palate. Golden Delicious apple dominates with bright acidity. Good fruit/acid/sugar balance with nice finish but lacks much complexity.

  • Drinks towards the sweet side of Spatlese. Ripe peach, yellow apple, and bright lime. Nice orange blossom and slate notes. Enough acid to stay fresh. Finish could go longer.

  • Both joyful and serious; red apple, red apple skin, lime, tart acidity, apricot, and mineral. Still showing very youthful notes (obviously); yummy, but not yet very complex, though that could change with some time as it is still a baby. Quite nice.
