Coravin fun - German Riesling plus ring in (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Medium minus intensity aromas are meaty, savoury, green over red apple, slight sulphur, tiny lanolin (?). Medium plus intensity acidity, orange with mandarin, textured grip is chalk mineral - like licking a wet stone, a little stone fruit on the finish, off-dry, very long. Lovely.

Christmas Day 2020 (My place, Kent Street): Served with nectarines wrapped in proscuitto di parma or jamon iberica. From Coravin. Lovely and rich with custard apple the dominant aroma but also some honey, apple and apricot. fleshy and rich on the palate but with sufficient acidity to keep the sweetness in check. Went best with Proscuitto.

From Coravin. Creamy, slightly herbaceous notes over green and red apple, lemon and very slight egg custard, a little pear, grwos with time in the glass and gains richness and, oddly, a little sulphur prickle. Similar to the 2008 but the acid is a touch more to the fore here. Lemon over apple on the palate with some creamy breadth. Medium plus length. Okay.

The wine appears clear, pale, lemon. A honied flavour with stone fruit (peach) and clear notes of rubber hoses give this wine a pronounced nose. On the nose the wine smells promising. On the palate the wine is off-dry, with medium acidity, medium body and a short to medium finish. The wine lacks acidity to overcome the sweetness and tastes dull. It lacks flavour intensity, it only has sweetness. It's probably a bit past its peak. When opening the cork fell apart, might be a sign of bad storage. Therefore, no score given to this wine.

Project supper with Cass (Cass and Adrians place, Huntley Hill): Yum. Stone fruit especially peaches and cream, off dry and rich but not at all cloying, exceedingly pleasing.
