Hazy notes from a couple of days ago. Solid cabernet, with the requisite blackberry and slight herbal notes. Medium bodied, very plush and rather modern, low acid and only a hint of tannins. Fruit forward. This tastes like it was made in the winery rather than in the vineyard: a recipe seems to have been followed.

The wine looks crimson colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like oak and dust. It tastes like light toast and espresso. The body is light/medium. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

Wakefield/Taylors: Saucy purple color. Gorgeous blueberry, dark currants and plums, along with smoke, some dark earth, clove and black pepper. Full and saucy with chewy tannins and some surprising moderate acidity. Blackberry and blueberry jam, the fruit is bold but smooth. Some smoky, peppery, savory spice to accent the richer elements of cedar, vanilla and cola. Chewy and rich but maintains some freshness and some nuanced non-fruit elements. I’d like to see this in three or four years.

Drinking well. Soft tannins. Bloody good value for money. Great Cabernet.
