Lesson here; salted in the shell peanuts don't go with fine wine. Came home from World Series game 1 (Go Royals) after eating about a pound of peanuts, and needed a glass of wine. Opened this with hope and tasted really bad. Almost threw it out. Next night under pump (with fresh palate) this was terrific (and for the next night as well). Good for a while yet, I think.

Sweet dark cherry liqueur with softened tannins and long finish. I felt like this wine could hold for another couple of years, but hard to imagine it will continue to improve from where it is now.

This wine was still holding well, deep dark purple in color with some blueberry and toasty oak on the long finish.

Now tastes (or feels) more of saturated structure than fruit or earth. muddy, full, slightly hot. Not my favorite.
