Reason for the low score is the candy taste as noted in the others comments. I would not have expected a Syrah / Malbec blend to taste like a Lifesavers cherry mint. If you like sweet wines, you will like this one. If you were expecting the taste of Syrah and Malbec, you won't.

Not what I expected for a Syrah-Malbec blend. Aerated into a decanter, though that now seems unnecessary. Presents as burgundy with purple highlights. Blackberry candy, damp wood chips, and violets lead on the nose. The attack is moderately sweet and filled with candied red and dark fruits. Some smoke develops on the midpalate, but it comes off as an undesirable combination that is best described as "smoked candy" with a touch of mulling spice. The finish is also sweet, moderate-length, and tastes like those jelly-filled raspberry candies that my grandma used to have out on the table at Christmas. The sweetness isn't very cloying, and is supported by sandy, somewhat unrefined tannins.
All-in-all, this is a very easy drinking wine that could be a good choice for a beginning drinker. We'll call it "good," 83/100.

Good everyday wine, but gets boring over time.
