Clear aroma of red fruit and some spices. The palate is refreshing with a lightbodied structure and a long aftertaste. Pairs very well with some light meat (lamb, chicken) and cheeses with charcuterie. Pleasant to drink even without decanting.

Nose: Black cherry, red wine vinegar, violets, pretty floral, peppermint Palate: nose smells right, + vanilla, green chilies, black pepper, sharp cheddar cheese, maybe a little blue cheese licorice, little peppermint, orange soda, mushrooms, citrus zest, cinnamon bbq sauce

A little more freshness and less toughness than this wine can have in some vintages. Really serviceable Spanish version of "carafe wine." It's real, and it's tasty.

Drunk after finishing the 2010 Pesquera crianza left over from last night, leading to a very unfair comparison. Did not decant this tempranillo. Initially, a slightly off note in the nose and initial flavors which blew off after a few minutes. This is an OK wine, it is available at a good price, but I don't think I would purchase again.
