  • This has evolved with extra time in bottle, darker aged color with cloudier color; nose a little sharp at first but then settles into a wilted rose, cinnamon, mahogany, and dried cherries, the nose is luxurious in the way of an older Manzoni Barolo; palate starts off a bit sharp with the acid and hard tannin but fleshes out with more air, there is a classic Nebbiolo quality here that I really enjoy but also a certain piece that is missing in the middle and slight finish; overall a nice wine showing good aged Nebbiolo character but it's not something that will blow you away.

  • Tuesday Night Double Blind $40+ (Bin 75): 80% Nebbiolo, 20% Barbera; see through crimson core with onion skin rim; elegant rose, sexy red cherry, sweet and friendly nose, strawberry, anise, licorice, sandalwood; younger, lighter tannin, cedar, cherry, long finish with a bit of pucker; delicious; called Barbaresco as the Barbera note was not very strong.
