Grape(s): 100% Gamay Alcohol: 12.5% Acidity: Lively, Tart, Crisp Tannin – Soft and easy drinking tannins Price: $16.99 Aromas – Moderate Intensity. blackberry, black currant, smoky wood and tobacco scents and mint Color – Moderate depth, purple with Garnet edges Flavor –Medium Dry, Light to Medium bodied. Moderate Flavor intensity. Tart, sour cherry, strawberry, dark chocolate, mineral, white peppercorn Finish: Medium finish
Notes: old world style. Bright and with surprising structure that would be associated with a pinot. Which I really enjoyed. Would not have guess this blind as a gamay. Aromas of red and black cherries, with earthy scents of tea leaf and hay. Also mineral tones coming through. The initial flavors are of tart and sour cherry and strawberry. Subdued by a dark chocolate mocha. Fruit persist through a nice finish with hints of white pepper. Mouth feel is smooth and light weighted. Nicely balanced acidity, fruit and tannin making this a true surprise for me!

Dark cherry, chocolate. Tastes more like Pinot than Gamay. Decent tannins; could go a few years (and may even be better in a year or two). Good acidity. Really nice. Unexpected.
