  • Clear, bright, medium garnet with some ruby streaks. The nose is clean, with oak spice notes dominating. The nose is developing (+) with aromas of ripe red plum, black cherry, green tea, fennel and a little earth. The palate is dry, but fruitier than the nose, with medium acidity, medium tannins and medium (+) alcohol (13.5%). The alcohol actually seems hotter, like a 14.5% abv or more. Overall, this is a medium-bodied, food-friendly wine with good flavor intensity and a medium (+) long, clean finish. It pairs very well with charcuterie and milk cheeses. It is drinking nicely right now, but is not likely to improve with further aging because the oak is likely to outlast the fruit. 88+

  • I've been holding on to this one for a bit, mainly because I wasn't sure if this one was still good or not. On a whole, this one has integrated nicely but the punch on the finish is a bit muted. The nose is fig, cranberry, and red cherry. Entry is darker. Medium bodied wine. Little acidity allows for the red cherry and cranberry tart. Middle is darker with black cherry and soot. Finish is rather devoid of tannin but has some acidity. Mild prune note and earth on finish went very well with Manchego cheese. Good wine but glad I consumed this one now because it won't be around in 1-2 years. The reserve will probably hold a little longer, but not this one. Drink by 2017 or hold if you dare. This wine is much better now than the thin wine it was back a year ago, so it could possibly be even more complex in a year.....but I doubt it.

  • Garnet with ruby hues and med-heavy viscosity in the glass. Nose of raspberry jam, rose pedals, plum, red clay, toast and vanilla. Med-full body and chewy with jammy red fruit, plum, pepper, vanilla, roses and stone fired pizza on the palate. There’s a dustiness that nicely compliments the jamminess. Med-long finish.

  • Complex nose with earthy notes. Crisp acidity. Alcohol is in-check. Excellent wine.
