My impression is quite similar to Josh Raynold's note many years ago: Explosive spice-accented aromas of ripe black and blue fruits and incense. The fleshy, sweet, expansive palate offers concentrated blueberry and cherry compote flavors, along with suggestions of licorice and earthiness. Yes, I stole most of that, but it fits. Still good structure, chewy tannins, long finish and good lift. An excellent wine overall.

What a wine . Simply spectacular after a splash decant. This was on the young side out of a cold cellar. What a fantastic balanced concentration, long and fresh even if this was a hot vintage . Easily 94 pts and a true bargain by any standard.

Final bottle of four. Not decanted. I'm a big fan of this producer in general, vintage after vintage. My experience is that they tend to shine best at 6-8 years of age, and not 10+, as would a top CdP. The tertiary flavors are starting to take over, and they aren't as enjoyable as what they're displacing. But for the record, everyone agreed this was still our WOTN.

#2 WOTN for me and really starting to peak. Gorgeous infusion of secondary flavors. I think Clos Mogador is underrated in the world of top Grenache. It consistently delivers for me more than all but a few CdP. A great wine, time after time.

Dark red. Not much brown so see here. Very fresh, but the fruit has somewhat disappeared. Not sure where it goes from here.
