This was an excellent Barolo. A big, dark wine for a La Morra Barolo with a beautiful nose. On the palate, the tannins have resolved but it still seems structuted. Not one sign of old age. Most enjoyable now, and it has many years left.

Hats off, gentleman. An awesome and inspiring wine. A fetching nose to die for. The bouquet alone will haunt me for years to come. Only 54$?!!!what a steal.

Slow oxed all day And as I put it into a decanter I pour a small glass. Fresh cut flowers and hay surrounding some rose pedals. Black as night. Wow this is still a tannic beast that’s hiding most of the fruit which emerges just at the end. Some lingering tar and bitter coffee. Did I pop this bottle too soon? I’ve been slowly working thru my other 2001’s and with a long slow ox and decant, they have been spot on. I will revisit at dinner of brined pork ribs, roasted beets with blue cheese and homemade biscuits. In just 20 minutes this has totally opened up. The tannins have resolved and there is a tremendous sweetness of strawberries and cherries what a transformation. Wow right in the sweetspot. Air is magic. As we sit with it, it keeps building Tar infused sweet strawberries. The color is still totally Impenetrable. Not a bit of bricking. If your lucky enough to own any, there is no rush to drink and this will get better.

PNP by necessity. Pretty red/black fruit on the nose. Silky and intense mouth feel with good fruit at first but turning rather hard after an hour or so. Really nice but it sure begs for many more years.
