  • Dark, inky, huge nose. Beautiful legs. Robust flavors of black cherry. Allow open time to breathe. Drinking very well now and will likely hold well for 5-8 years at least!

  • Dark, opaque, indigo color. A somewhat medicinal aroma that was a bit off putting. Some plum and cassis on the front palate. More herbal and vegetal on the mid palate with oak and tobacco on the finish. A bit softer with more fruit evident on the second night. Overall impression; round and soft, typical of Sonoma with a hint of bitter spices. OK but a bit disjointed.

  • Decanted for 3 hours or so

Color: This is the same color as my shirt, which is this deep, rich, solid burgundy. Edges are still very solid with just a small hint of clearing around the very outer edge.

Nose: Yummy cassis, black cherry, plum, dark fruit, and spice towards the end. Ya know I’m getting some cocoa, but now definitely getting that spice note at the end. Smells delicious!

Taste: Hmmm it’s not very leggy, but I’ve seen better, I’ve seen worse. Anyway . . . Smooth, velvety, rich, and voluptuous, but a short-lived finish in our opinion. Fruit is right there in your face expressing cherries, dark fruits, and mocha-chocolate notes. There is some espresso at the end with some semi-firm tannins to give it an older, but in need of a chiropractor backbone. This is drinking great right now. It’s well balanced and very easy to drink. Enjoy my friends! And Happy Holidays!!
