Dark ruby. Lusty nose of mushrooms, leather, and wild dusty brambly berries. Energizing shot of dark acid fruit on the palate, clear juice, long tannic finish. A very sexy wine. 50 + 16 + 17 + 8.

I love Dolcetto d'Alba and this wine did not disappoint. Went great with leg of lamb. It's a richer wine than others that I have had. I think it might have benefited from a little longer aging in the cellar, but it was not infanticide to drink it. But I have one more and will try to let it rest for a bit.

This needs about an hour of air before it really opens up. This shows excellent Dolcetto typicity. Full bodied & in good balance with dark plummy fruit & a strong tannic framework. As mentioned once opened it hits another gear on the mid palate with some brighter layers on the fruit.
This shows more delicacy than I expect on Dolcetto & should pair with a variety of food. Not complex or nuanced, but really isn't intended to be. Very good example.

Served on the cool side. Gentle melon and pear and mild banana on the nose. Violets, earth, beet, tannin and acid. Pretty goofy descriptors! Rather pleasant, though. Very Good.

Kermit Lynch's Italian Roadshow (with the winemakers) (E&R Wine Shop, Portland OR): Energetic fruit filled aromas that are slightly darkly complected. Creamy palate with lots of fruit and some minerality. Tannins kick in which I appreciate as it starts a bit too fruity. Softer finish with nice tannins lingering and just a hint of that exuberant fruit.
