Classic Burgundian styling. Subtle oak adds nuance to lively orchard fruit. Nice finish asks for another sip. At 9 years still has time in hand, but perfect drinking now. Could easily masquerade as a 1er Cru Cote de Beaune wine.

This is my first Walter Scott Chardonnay that was flawed. It smelled and tasted like boiled hot dog water. Needless to say that aroma wasn’t pleasant. Unfortunately, this was my last bottle of the 2013 X Novo so I can’t be sure if this was a random bottle issue or something more.

This was not good. Seemed very oaky and had a burnt rubber aroma to it, almost like it was overly reduced, but I don't think that was it. While I can't point to a specific flaw (i.e., it wasn't corked, etc.), I know this producer has a good reputation so I'll chalk this up to a flawed bottle.

May be best domestic Chardonnay we have ever had. Lemon and citrus notes on the palate with crisp acidity. Long finish. Outstanding wine.
