Oregon Trip-Day 1 (Here and there, Willamette Valley): Wood and caramel with some reduction. Rich tropical fruit that almost tastes as though there is some RS. Minimal minerality and the oak sticks out. Too exaggerated for me.

Nose: The reduction is still there and is noticeable, with a bit of rubbery/matchstick tones but the fruit is seamless and lovely with apples, poached pears, stone fruits, meyer lemons, sea salt, warm oils, kumquat, yellow flowers, saline, and vanilla notes.
Taste: The feel is Medium/full bodied with tart, medium+ acidity. The feel is textired and balanced with apples, poached pears, stone fruits, meyer lemons, sea salt, kumquat, yellow flowers, saline, and vanilla notes.
Overall: This is drinking gorgeously. The reduction isn’t going away and is part of the style. This needs some air to really express itself, but the feel is gorgeous and balanced.

Beautiful stage in its development. The fruit has blossomed nicely with deep orchard flavors. But the balance, framing acidity and deft oak treatment are classic Burgundy and hit the Mark perfectly. First class. Very few New World Chardonnays hit this level.

Burgundian style. Light, fine oak adds substance to a very attractive, clean fruit profile. Tree fruit with very good acid balance. Medium bodied wine early in its drinking window. Shows what Oregon can do.

Monthly Tasting Group: Worldwide Chardonnay (Oceanaire, Mpls, MN): Small taste. Very reductive, all matchstick, one dimensional, covers the fruit, oaky.
