Jean Leon wines: Light flowery, violet notes, pleasant restraint after vulgar Palau Merlot. On the palate there is dryness from red currants, aronia, medium body. Good overall freshness, slightly smoky, tobacco as well as dill and hint of marinated patty pan squash.

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (85%) and Cabernet Franc (15%). Aged for 12 months in oak barrels and 24 months in bottles before release.
Dark, rather opaque cherry red with some mature dried blood hue. A bit restrained and elegant, dry nose with aromas of freshly picked blackcurrants, brambly blackberries, some minty herbal nuances and a touch of earthiness and / or developed leather tones. On the palate the wine is surprisingly medium-bodied and somewhat restrained with quite high acidity and balanced, firm tannins. The fruit side is more about just plummy fruit with a hint of wizened blackcurrants, whereas the palate is quite dominated by rich, aromatic oak flavors of chocolate, cloves and vanilla. There is a touch of developed complexity that shines through occasionally under the oak. The finish is dry, ripe and quite long with nuanced flavors of freshly picked blackcurrants, sweet vanilla oak aromatics, some chocolate and a hint of astringent tannic grip.
A decent, modern and polished Cabernet Sauvignon. Decent in the sense that this is not as heavy and jammy as these modern Cabs can be - the wine actually shows good balance and impressive structure. However, the heavy oak character is what makes this wine really boring and almost repelling to me. This wine actually could have been a nice, balanced Cabernet Sauvignon that was starting to show some nice developed notes, but its dominant oak aromas and flavors just distracted me from the fruit and gave it air of a poorly made 10€ Chilean red blend. Really unfortunate. This wine was more impressive and enjoyable than the Vinya Palau Merlot, but not much.

Complejo e intenso en nariz en boca.
En nariz presenta ahumados y en boca resulta sedoso, bastante denso, astringente, largo.
