One of the earlier bottles added to my budding collection so I really enjoyed opening this 6-7 years later. The fruit and tannins were both very much still present. Perfect with grilled lamb chops and ribeyes. Higher ABV but still balanced imo. The peppery Shiraz notes were perfect for our grilled meats. Drink now or wait another 3-5 years probably.

On our Costco run this evening we saw they had one more rack of ribs and decided to go with it and some Quinoa salad. Something as meaty and rich as ribs requires a serious wine. Tonight I thought this 2012 Darioush Shiraz would pair well and indeed it did. The tannins of the wine are beginning to soften up at this time. On the nose you get black pepper, black olive and blueberry. On the palate you you get this wave on black fig, black berry and leather. This wine still has a long way to go before it starts its downward decent. A fabulous wine that will not disappoint.
