  • 2018 Abbott Claim Chardonnay

The wine is so velvety smooth on the palate. Notes of yellow apple, honeycomb, lemon oil and star fruit. I love that this wine is not angular in any way. Nice finish to seal the deal.

  • 2012 Darioush Cabernet Sauvignon

This wine packs a punch on the nose with aromas of baking spices, vanilla, black plum, sweet tobacco and menthol.

The palate was not left wondering when it came to this wine. Intense notes of blackberries, blackberry jam, black cherries, graphite and black currant.

After 11 years in bottle, this wine is kicking on all cylinders. There is plenty of weight on the palate. The first sip, attacks the mid upper palate. Tannins rise to the top and condenses there for a minute before slowly dissipating. While the wine tapers off, the tannins are the last to leave the show.

I would revisit this wine in 3-5 years. Plenty of room for this wine to continue to age with grace. Drink now - 2030

  • 2014 Darioush Merlot

Decided to do a follow up on the 2014 Darioush Merlot. I last tasted this wine in 2018 and it appears this wine has improved beyond belief. The tannins are fully integrated and has developed into a fully balanced wine.

Aromas of black pepper, dark chocolate, black plum and fresh fig take control of the nose and don’t let go. The palate is richly rewarded with a swirl of black fruit and baking spices.

This wine is in its peak drinking window right now. Opening this bottle now will not disappoint.
