  • Eclectic wine tasting (at my home): dark translucent red-purple
dominant ripe mature dark red & black fruits nose and quality green-pepper and light spicy notes
medium-full bodied, young fruity flavours, soft firm tannins, tart, oak-vanilla, the Malbec & CF influence is well observed, good balance & harmony, rustic character, fare structure, simple complexity, enjoyable lively finish.

  • 2011 Vintage. Nice bouquet of dark fruit upon swirling the wine in the glass. The nose anticipated an unabashed fruit forward wine. A bunch of flavors on the initial plalate comprising of cherry, then plum, followed by toast. The acidity causes salivation, which softens the flavor to change to blueberry, followed by a lingering cigar taste after completing the taste. A seriously long finish was held together by the acidity and nice tannins. Initial palate is not as refined as a $100 plus wine, but very pleasant with good lingering acidity and smokeyness. I am not a smoker, but I do like the middle to late flavors. I loved the order of the interesting layers of flavors. Your experience may be more peppery if you salivate less. At $25, an awesome buy. May even be better after decanting or after 1 year more in the cellar, but don't wait too long. Enjoy it. Would go well with a charred medium/medium rare NY Strip followed by a cigar or a smokey single malt scotch. For dessert, a rice pudding with cinnamon with a touch of nutmeg would be awesome. The fat in the rice pudding would hold the flavors of the wine longer and complement each other like a romantic couple.
