Rubino granato, naso profuma di fiori secchi, frutto turgido ciliegia, spezie piccanti, bocca in equilibrio tra acidità e tannini soft, frutta e salinità.
Piaciuto e in una fase perfetta.

Lacked the intensity of a previous bottle. This one is really starting evolve into the next stage of development. Less fruit more leather. Aging gracefully. Will hold my last two bottles a few more years.

Tasted alongside four other 2001 Brunellos, including the neighboring Diego Molinari' Cerbaiona. Decanted 45 minutes. Of the five I think I liked this the best. Tastes young - could be a ten year old wine. But its also very dark and concentrated - so much so as to surely not the typical of Brunello or indeed Sangiovese. Diego Molinari's wine showed similar uncharacteristic qualities. The wine is impressive. But I am really not sure what to make of it. Bought on release and not moved in the cellar for 17 years.

Much less distinctive than the last bottle and almost lost in the plethora of Sangiovese this night. Full bodied but lacks focus. Enjoyable with the right protein, though.

(Cerbaiola (Salvioni) Brunello di Montalcino) Tight but intriguing caramel oak and balsamic nose; good but tight, solid cherry palate; medium-plus finish

black cherry, black tea, very nice brunello which still drinks young and had the misfortune of being pared next to the '09 soldera.
